L'actrice américaine y incarne Camille, une journaliste alcoolique et tourmentée envoyée couvrir une série de disparitions et de meurtres dans sa ville natale. Très vite, la jeune femme est rattrapée par son passé et par les démons qui hantent cette bourgade de l'Amérique profonde, gangrenée par une violence inhérente aux lieux renfermés sur eux-mêmes.
